LINKS

useful links about webmastering, the web in general, or other fun nonsense :)

  • SADGRL.ONLINE- the website to look at for starting off with html and css. She did recently revamp, so some of her stuff may be archived.
  • YESTERWEB.ORG- I linked the manifesto, we must remember to be a community.
  • MELONKING.NET- an absolute goldmine for fun stuff to look at and learning about the oldweb. feels like you are back in the 90s :) it's also a great place to find other homepages via his webring!
  • ARCHIVE.ORG- a library of archived books, movies, show, etc. It features the Wayback Machine, so you can look at websites from months to years ago!! Very fun to explore, definitely one of my favorite things out their on the internet
  • OOCITIES.ORG- another great place to look at archived websites (mainly focusing on old geocities homepages
  • ASTRONOMY PIC OF THE DAY (ARCHIVE) - what was happening in space when you were born, married, recieved acceptance, or broken up with.
  • EARTH SCIENCE PUBLICATIONS- courtesy of NASA ☆彡-- the page I linked brings you to the 2025 list, but you can look at earlier publication !
  • ELEMENTLEGAME.COM- can you guess the element in 6 guesses or less? It will tell you as you guess whether it's higher on the periodic table and what group it may be in! My nerd brain loves it and maybe you can too!
  • PHET.COLORADO.EDU- are you stuck on scientific subject or just looking for some fun STEM games, PhET labs offers quite a few options! I used this in highschool an absolutely loved it and sometimes go back to it test my knowledge on some subjects. Given to us by the University of Colorado Boulder.
  • COOLMATHGAMES.COM- the only joy I had in computer science class was going here to play papas freezeria
  • WATCH SOME OLD HOCKEY GAMES- playlists of NHL games. My favorie would have to be June 12, 2009 (Sid, Geno, and Fluery's first cup)
  • ONHOCKEY.TV- it is absolutely abhorant that hockey cannot be watched simply on your TV as it could in 2012 and that you need 23 different streaming sources to watch a game. This site allows you to watch live hockey games (NHL and international teams!). It does not hold previous games on the site, but a lot can be found on youtube. The chanel above is the only one I have really looked into, but if you dig around you can probably find some of your favorite team(s)
  • KAOMOJI.RU- best place to find emoticons of every varity
  • WWW.DAFONT.COM- fonts to use for your website or other personal needs. I find it quite trustworthy
